Downtown and Railroad Square have their own business identities
Santa Rosa recognizes separate community benefit districts for Downtown and Railroad Square. Railroad Square’s directory includes shops, restaurants, lodging and professional businesses, a reminder that local inventory needs extend well beyond one industry. If your operation combines a selling space with storage or service areas, we can plan the count around that full layout and the information you need from it.

Make distinctive pieces easy to identify
For a home-goods, vintage or specialty shop, a description such as “chair” may not distinguish one piece from another. Show us your item tags and how you identify a matched set, an individual piece or stock held on approval. If items have no standard code, we can discuss a practical reference. Clear identity is especially useful during an ownership change, when both parties need to recognize the merchandise being counted.
Include the stock packed away for another occasion
Seasonal décor, overflow merchandise and event supplies can remain in labeled boxes long after the floor changes. Identify which boxes contain sale stock and which hold fixtures or operating supplies. Note any reused labels and products moved between storage and displays. We can discuss counting these areas along with the storefront so a shelf-only view does not miss the goods your team will bring out next.
Questions about your Santa Rosa count
Can a matched furniture set be recorded as separate pieces?
Yes, discuss how you sell the set and the detail needed in your inventory. We can agree whether individual pieces, the complete set or both identifiers should be represented without duplicating quantities.
What if a product has been taken off display but is still saleable?
Keep its location on the stockroom list and tell us its current status. Off-display merchandise can be included in the agreed count without assuming it is damaged, obsolete or excluded from a sale.
