Give every stockroom a place in the count
For a neighborhood market or specialty shop, start with a quick walk through every space holding goods: behind the counter, above display shelving, in a basement or in a separate storage unit. A simple list of these spaces helps us discuss the full scope. Tell us about stair access, shared entrances and who has the keys.
If staff refill the sales floor while counting is underway, agree how those movements will be noted. A carton moved from downstairs to a display should remain one carton in the final result.
Separate what is sold from what belongs to the business
A restaurant, boutique or neighborhood store can hold customer goods, supplier-owned stock and its own equipment under one roof. Before a San Francisco business handover, mark which merchandise is included and identify fixtures or equipment that belong to a landlord or vendor. Keep that ownership list available for both parties.
We can discuss merchandise and asset counts together. For a shop with a kitchen, for example, ingredients, packaged goods, refrigerators and furniture serve different purposes in the records. Agree the categories before combining any totals.
Questions about your San Francisco count

Give us the practical details: the entrance to use, access arrangements, where to meet your contact and any delivery activity around the proposed count. We use that information to plan with you; an unusual layout is a reason to talk through the job.
