Gilroy inventory can move between a retail rack, a wholesale shelf and an outgoing order. PIA helps you establish what is on hand and where it belongs, with counts for merchandise, business transfers and operating assets.

Liquor stores, convenience stores, retail, warehouses and more—PIA’s full range of services is available throughout Gilroy.

On-site counts from our Fresno-based team.

Retail and wholesale need different counting details

Gilroy is a shopping destination with the Premium Outlets, while its commercial and industrial planning also accommodates shops, warehouses, manufacturing and wholesale distribution. If your operation sells both individual products and bulk orders, the way stock is packaged matters as much as the number on the shelf. We help you plan around that distinction, whether your business is a storefront, a supply counter or a warehouse supporting customers across the South Bay and Central Coast.

Resolve cases, packs and individual units before counting

If your Gilroy supply business receives cases and sells individual pieces, show us an unopened case, an inner pack and a loose item. Note how many units each contains and which number your system expects. That small preparation step helps avoid an apparent shortage caused by comparing cases with individual pieces.

Identify broken cases and goods already picked for customers. If the same item appears in a showroom and a warehouse, tell us whether you need one combined quantity or separate location totals to support replenishment.

Keep returned goods visible during a retail count

For a Gilroy retailer, the merchandise awaiting a return decision can be just as important as the stock neatly arranged for sale. Separate damaged goods, customer returns and items waiting to go back to a supplier. Explain which of those groups remain in your system so an itemized comparison has a clear basis.

If markdown racks or special-price displays are included in financial inventory, discuss which selling prices apply. A physical count and a price check answer related questions; agreeing both helps the final totals mean what you expect.

Questions about your Gilroy count

Should customer orders waiting for pickup be part of our count?

Show us how those orders are marked and whether they have already been removed from your stock records. Agree their treatment before counting. The goal is to avoid including an order twice or treating goods reserved for a customer as freely available stock.

We are downsizing our Gilroy premises. Can you document what we have before we decide what to sell?

Yes. An asset count can establish a record of equipment, furnishings and other business property. Identify items you intend to keep, relocate or consider for sale, along with anything rented or owned by someone else. Your team can use the record when making those decisions.

PIA has counted business inventory since 1983. Our founder oversees operations and personally trains our auditors.
