Independent retail has a place in Rivertown
Rivertown’s business mix includes independent shops selling collectibles, clothing and home goods; a local example on G Street describes a marketplace of multiple vendors. That kind of assortment raises different counting questions from a shelf of identical packaged products. We welcome both, along with Antioch’s other stores and businesses, and work with you to identify the detail that makes the inventory useful.

Keep each vendor’s merchandise identifiable
For a shared retail space, prepare a list of vendor names or booth numbers and show us how ownership is marked on each item. Pieces can move from one display to another, so location alone may not tell the whole story. During a business sale, clarify which stock is owned by the seller and which is held for others. That distinction helps keep the physical count separate from assumptions about the transaction.
Agree what counts as one complete item
A boxed collectible, furniture set or multipiece product needs a clear description of what is included. Flag incomplete sets, loose accessories and pieces held for a customer. If a set has one price, explain whether you want it recorded together or by component. The same preparation helps a general retailer with gift packs or a service business with tool kits, making the count reflect what someone can actually use or buy.
Questions about your Antioch count
Can used merchandise be counted separately from new stock?
Yes. Show us your existing labels or designated areas and the groups you want reported. For unique items, a reference or description helps keep their identity clear without assuming similar pieces have the same value.
Should customer layaways be included with available stock?
Identify them as a separate group and tell us their status. We can discuss counting what is present while preserving the distinction between items available for sale and goods already reserved or sold.
